As I have read only 3 dystopian novels (The Hunger Games Trilogy). I find that this challenge is something that I need and I am glad I've found it. I don't really know what else to say. So lets go onto the 11 books I'm challenging myself to read during 2012.... A year that people believe world will end in *rolls her eyes* You know where I'm going with this don't you... Dystopian - End Of The World Sorry I just couldn't help myself On With The List :
Lord Of The Flies ( have to read it anyway for school, otherwise wouldn't be on the list.)
Another challenge! This challenge is something that I need to do because I have couple of books which are quite large that I want to read.So we'll start off with two and if I finish them , we'll upgrade.
The books that are suitable for this challenge are ones which have over 700 pages. o_O
I am doing this challenge because the books that I read don't really vary. So I am hoping this challenge will introduce me to new genres and maybe I will find a new genre that I enjoy reading.
Okay lets be honest , I am really only doing this challenge to get adorable cupcakes on my page.
Before each month starts I will post a list of books that I am going to be reading(attempt to read) that month. Or potential books if I don't own them already. Books that will be in red are going to be the potential books.Books in black are going to be the books I already own and know for certain I am going to attempt to read.
This is my first year of doing Reading Challenges and also the first time I am going to attempt to blog. I have gone a bit over the roof and I am not completely sure I am done adding new challenges so I might be adding new ones. So these are the challenges I am currently participating in :
I have also added links to my blog posts for each of these challenges ; just click on the challenge you want to check out. ( The also have links to the person whose hosting the challenge if you want to join in)
A Classic Reading Challenege , Oh boy! I have been wanting to read classics for a while. But everytime I look at one, I get scared that I will not be able to finish it. Thats why I am so glad that I've found this , challenges always motivate me. The rules are to read books written prior to 1980. Okay so these are the 12 classic books I picked to read during 2012 :
To Kill A Mocking Bird
Alice Adventures In Wonderland ( Its quite sad really that I have never actually read this)
'The Jumbo Size YA Reading Challenge = 40 Young Adult Novels.
This is going to sound pathetic but I'm a young adult and barley read Young Adult novels. So I have searched GoodReads and have found these books that other readers have raved about and books which have really appealed to me. To my suprise I have actually found 31 Books. Some of them are series so if I enjoy the first book I am also gonna add the second book in the series. The first 4 books on this list are the books that I own , therefore will be reading them first.
I have created this blog to review books , keep track of my challenges and just to have fun. Now you're wondering , have can you have fun running a blog? To be honest... I have no idea, but everyone else seems to enjoy so I thought I would join in
I generally read Adult Fiction : Historical, Drama, Mystery, Cultural, Science Fiction and sometimes Horror.
However I want to start reading Young Adult Novels. I, of course have read Harry Potter and it's an amazing work of fiction and also the fuel to my reading passion. When I read I hope to find gems like HP, that will transfer me into another world. A world that I long for after I read the novel.
In addition I have read 'The Hunger Games' - Love.
And of course 'The Twilight Saga'. Honestly I enjoyed the first book 'Twilight', however as the story progressed I started to get annoyed with Bella and Edward and their relationship. In my opinion 'The Twilight Saga' is a cliche story about a love triangle. The only difference is , is that it has supernatural beings included.
2012 will be the year that I will widen my Young Adult reads.
This blog will be a personal challenge for me as I have commitment issues.
I hope I can stick to it.
